Supporting Johnson County 4-H Youth Through the Auction
Do you have a family member, friend, neighbor, or community member in 4-H that you would like to show support for? 4-H projects allow youth to develop knowledge, skill, and character. For example, youth build a sense of responsibility through waking up at the crack of dawn to care for their cattle for the Beef Project. Or they develop problem solving skills working on a small engine project.
Show support for your local 4-H’er by attending the Livestock and Project Auction.
What is the Livestock and Project Auction?
At the Livestock and Project Auction, youth auction off the livestock that they raised or the project they worked on during the 4-H year. By purchasing a market animal(s) or project at the auction, you are helping finance the future of a 4-H’er. Members often use the profits of the sales to continue their education.
When and where is the Livestock and Project Auction?
The auctions take place during the Johnson County Fair at the Johnson County Fairgrounds in Gardner, Kansas. This year, the Project Auction will take place on Friday, July 30 at 8pm and the Livestock Auction will take place on Saturday, July 31 at 1pm.
I want to show support for a 4-H’er without purchasing anything. What are my options?
You can support a 4-H’er with an “add-on” donation for any youth participating in the auctions. Add-on donations can be any amount you choose, and you just need to visit the check-out window with the name of the 4-H’er you would like to support.
