Johnson County Livestock Association
The Johnson County Livestock Association began as a grass roots efforts in 1989 to support, promote and improve livestock in the county. Early issues that were addressed included county zoning regulations, environmental regulations, animal rights activities, urban livestock education and marketing. The first elected board of directors included Glenn Bonar, Gladys Krauss, Bob Knoche, J.P. Lefmann, Russ Nellor, and Tom Ewing.
An annual meeting is held to bring members together to get an update on the organization, listen to a speaker on a pertinent topic, and see the hard work from the mentor and mentee grant recipients as they present the past year's projects.
