Fabulous Football Food: Two Healthier Dips for the Big Game

dipTailgate and watch-party foods are notorious for not being so healthy for us. If you are looking to add something a little more nutritious to your celebration spread, try these dips. They not only taste amazing but are great alternatives to the traditional not-so-good-for-you dips.

Homemade Ranch Dip

Ingredients:

1 cup non-fat plain Greek yogurt
1/4 cup light mayonnaise
1 teaspoon dried dill weed
1 teaspoon dried chives
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon lemon juice

Directions:

Measure and combine all ingredients in a small bowl. Whisk to combine. Adjust seasonings accordingly. Refrigerate at least two hours before serving. Serve with fresh vegetables or crackers.

Fiesta Dip

Ingredients:

1 cup non-fat plain Greek yogurt
1/4 cup light mayonnaise
1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup Pico de Gallo

Directions:

Measure and combine all ingredients in a small bowl. Whisk to combine. Adjust seasonings accordingly. Refrigerate at least two hours before serving. Serve with tortilla chips, crackers, or fresh vegetables.
