Sunset Community Garden September Pop-up Farmers Market

gardenThe Sunset Community Garden pop-up farmers market returns for the month of September.

Shop produce from the community garden, including potatoes, garlic, kale, and more. All produce is donation-based. All proceeds are applied toward maintaining the community garden (and making more produce to share!).

  • Extension Master Food Volunteers will be on-hand with recipes and taste-tests.
  • Extension Master Gardeners will have a table and offer plant resources and answer your questions.
  • Additional resources from the Johnson County Extension office, including Natural Resources, 4-H Youth Development, and Family/Consumer Wellness.
  • Johnson County Department of Health and Environment with resources on breastfeeding and other programs.

Volunteering at the garden is a great way to learn about growing food, socialize with others, get physical activity, and contribute to a good cause.

Work days are on Tuesdays based on the time of year and weather patterns. All times are subject to change based on weather patterns. Please contact the office to confirm work times. Work days will be cancelled in case of inclement weather

Mid-March through Memorial Day – 8 am

Memorial Day through Labor Day – 7:30 am

Labor Day through end of season – 8 am

No gardening experience or equipment is required. Tools are supplied. Wear closed-toed-shoes, bring water, apply sunscreen, and bring gardening gloves if you have a pair.
