Monet Garden
"In the Monet style..."
The Monet Garden at the Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens was established in 2003. The garden is approximately one acre in size and includes hundreds of varieties of trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals and bulbs.
This garden demonstrates the style of Claude Monet's gardens at Giverny — blending flowers by color and letting them grow freely. You will delight in the variety of color harmonies that Monet loved and painted.
Six distinctly planted areas, each with their own identity, range from the fiery contrast of red and yellow to the cool tones of blues and whites. Irises, roses and dahlias along with numerous annuals provide season-long color.
The Johnson County Extension Master Gardeners (EMGs) maintain the garden and are available to answer visitors' questions every Wednesday and Saturday morning throughout the growing season, April-October.
