Everyone Needs a ...cation

A break from everyday life is essential for resetting. There is no better time than lazy summer days.

Taking time off from work and everyday activities can benefit your mental, physical, and emotional well-being. In addition to reducing your stress, taking a break can improve your focus, productivity, and creativity.

hikingThe good news is that spending time in a new area or trying a new experience can increase happiness and well-being. Taking time away can be through a vacation, a staycation, or even a day trip.

Here are some tips for planning your next reset:

1. Ditch the electronics.

Turn your devices off or on silent to give your mind and body a break. Check them only if necessary.

2. Change your scenery.

Changing scenery is what makes vacations so relaxing. Getting away from your usual routine and environment can release calming endorphins.

3. Create an itinerary.

When people plan a vacation, they usually have a specific activity or experience in mind. Take advantage of your time off in the same way and give yourself something to look forward to.

4. Don’t forget the food.

There is often a connection between food and relaxation when traveling. No matter what you plan to do during your time off, prepare snacks and beverages and try new recipes, place delivery orders, or explore new restaurants.

5. Plan for self-care.

Indulge in activities that nourish your mind and body that you don't usually get to do during your regular day-to-day routine. You might enjoy a hobby, reading a book, listening to a podcast, or even catching up on sleep—whatever relaxes you. Giving yourself permission to do nothing at all can sometimes be the best thing you can do for yourself.

What really matters is finding ways to slow down from your daily routine. Be mindful and creative when planning your time off, then relax, kick back, and enjoy!
