4-H Foods Throwdown
Put your 4-H cooking knowledge and skills to the test in this new 4-H event. Work as a team of 4 and compete to win over the taste buds of three judges. Teams must work together to plan, cook, plate, and present their knowledge of nutrition, food safety, and food preparation.
2020 Timeline:
- January 25, 2020 Opportunity presented at Food Fare
- February 14, 2020 Registration Opens
- March 6, 2020 Recipes will be sent out to teams
- March 21, 2020 4-H Foods Throwdown at the Johnson County Extension Office
8:45-9 am Introduction, Explain Expectations, Tour of Kitchen, Introduce Mystery Ingredient
9-10:30 am Plan, Cook, Plate, and Clean
10:30-11:30 am Presentations
11:30-11:50 am Final Clean-up and Announcement of Winning Team

Register for the Event:
1. Registration Link: Have the following information ready:
- Team Name
- Names and ages of members
2. Knowledge Building: To prepare for the presentation, we highly suggest that you spend the time to familiarize yourself and your team around the topics of food preparation, safety, and nutrition. Your knowledge will benefit you in the presentation. Below are some links to get you started:

3. Online Quiz: As part of the registration process every 4-H'er must pass the online quiz with a score of 80% or higher. You may retake the quiz as many times as you like.
