Johnson County Horse Club

Club Description: The Johnson County 4-H Horse Club is a community club with a primary focus on the horse project. We offer a lot of opportunities for members from 7 to 18. All members can learn about horses and participate in quiz bowl, Panorama and judging events.

As a club, we host three 4-H horse shows a year. Our horse shows are our largest fundraisers. We raise funds for club activities and year-end awards and community support. We provide educational experiences throughout the year; for example: showmanship clinics, racing clinics, Panorama, educational trips, and visits to local horse farms.

Our members participate in several community service projects during the year and we encourage the older members to practice leadership skills by teaching younger members and becoming club committee leaders and officers.

We have members participate in horse judging, Panorama (Horse Quiz Bowl, Hippology contests), and other clinics and contests throughout the year.

Many of our members participate in other 4-H projects such as photography, sheep, goats, swine, cattle, rabbits, poultry, sewing, crafts, woodworking, etc. We will assist you in finding the appropriate leaders in any area you wish to explore.
