August 2023 Financial Check In

Review Record of Earnings
Future Social Security benefits can be affected by inaccuracies. Verify that the IRS has reported your earnings to Social Security correctly.
To do: Take a look at your last income tax and your Social Security earnings record at ssa.gov, and make sure your earnings are reflected correctly.
Replenish Your Office Supplies
Back-to-school season is here! It might not be back-to-school time for you, but this time of year offers the most variety at the lowest prices. Consider what you may need now or in the near future, such as paper, notebooks, writing tools, staples, paper clips, or technology.
To do: Make an inventory of what you already have, declutter what you don't need or use, and decide what you need or want to upgrade.
Financial Awareness Day is August 14
The goal of National Financial Awareness Day is to develop and instill good financial practices that will strengthen a person's financial status and assist them as they retire. Today is a great day for reviewing your budget (or creating one), reviewing savings and retirement goals, or learning more about a financial topic.
To do: Complete a financial checkup
